I have always been known for my weakness for buying cds. When I was younger my father lost his temper (and some of his money) with my love of music. Even when digital music became more popular I still wanted the actual, concrete cd. The cover art and the lyrics are, to me at least, a part of the experience of listenning music.
My musical taste has varied over the years from bubblegum pop to punk rock and now back to pop. Nowadays I collect the cds of Christina Aguilera and now I consider myself as a fan, I've more or less liked her music during the years but only now when I am older and understand the lyrics in a more deeper way I started to love her music.
At the beginning of this year I only had Christina Aguilera's compilation album Keeps Gettin' Better - A Decade of Hits and bootleg versions of Christina's debut album and her album Stripped which I truly enjoyed even when I claimed that pop is rubbish and that I would never truly like it. I guess now I have to eat my words. When my cousin showed me his collection of his cds I was green with envy. He collects Sugababes' cds and at the time he has 121 cds from Sugababes alone. This years January I also started to collect cds, I decided to get all Christina Aguilera's albums and that's where it started.
Quoting Christina:
Ladies and gentlemen
Boys and girls
Step right up, step right up
Come closer, you won't believe your eyes
Behind this curtain,
Witness something you've never seen before,
Heard before, dreamt before
The most amazing music on earth
